Happy Independence Day everyone and Happy Birthday America! As much as we love all the celebration and fireworks, we have to take a moment to make sure our pets are ready for the night to come. We have had a lot of customers ask us what is helpful to keep their pets calm and relaxed when the fireworks start. A few quick tips. If you know your pet gets anxious or acts up when the fireworks start, find a place in the house that may be quieter. Maybe a room without any windows or one that is better insulated from sound. Keep them in there until the fireworks are over. If you have a crate, you can try draping a large blanket over it to insulate the sound and keep them inside until it's over. Make sure to leave one side not covered so they can clear visibility.
Products we recommend to comfort your pets during high anxiety times like 4th of July fireworks are The Thundershirt, Animals Essentials Tranquility Tincture, and other calming pet supplements. If you are in a pinch and can't get to the store or shop online, find your pet's tightest fitting shirt that can "hug" them and provide comfort. Or you can hug them and comfort them.
